Census 2020: Tracts for San Francisco
공공데이터포털
A. SUMMARY Census tracts boundaries in San Francisco county. Census tracts are small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county. They are uniquely numbered in each county with a numeric code. Census tracts average about 4,000 inhabitants ranging from 1,200 – 8,000. More information on the census tracts can be found here. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The boundaries are uploaded from TIGER/Line shapefiles provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. C. UPDATE PROCESS This dataset is static. Changes to the census tract boundaries are tracked in multiple datasets. See here for 2000 and 2010 census tract boundaries. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET This boundary file can be joined to other census datasets on GEOID. E. RELATED DATASET 2020 Census Tracts and Analysis Neighborhoods
San Francisco Land Use - 2023
공공데이터포털
A. SUMMARY This data is an annual snapshot of existing land use as of March of the indicated year for every parcel in the City and County of San Francisco. This year's 2023 data was produced from the Land Use 2020, updated for residential properties using the Planning Department's permit database and current 2023 Assessor-Recorder data. The commercial data was not updated; the commercial data will be updated in next year's 2024 release. Each row of data corresponds to a parcel with 16 columns (fields or attributes) of information about each parcel, as described below. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The dataset is assembled from a range of City and commercial databases, including Assessor’s office and Dun & Bradstreet for commercial land uses. C. UPDATE PROCESS A new dataset will be added annually without updating previous years’ data. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET Review this document to understand the data (fields and their categories): Land Use Database 2023 Summary Limitations: Although every attempt is made to provide accurate data, the volume of data and parcels does not allow the Department to guarantee accuracy. Should errors be found, or questions arise, please email rebecca.latto@sfgov.org. E. RELATED DATASETS San Francisco Land Use - 2020

Supervisor Districts (2012)
공공데이터포털
A. SUMMARY This dataset contains San Francisco Board of Supervisor district boundaries approved by the San Francisco Redistricting Task Force in 2012 following redistricting based on the 2010 Decennial Census. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The dataset was created from the final map submitted by the San Francisco Redistricting Task Force. Boundaries in this map were decided using data from the 2010 Census on the number of people living in each census block in the City and County. These map boundaries were trimmed to align with the city and county's physical boundaries for greater usability. This trimming mainly consisted of excluding the water around the City and County from the boundaries. C. UPDATE PROCESS Supervisor District boundaries are updated every 10 years following the federal decennial census. The Supervisor District boundaries reflected in this dataset will remain unchanged. A new dataset was created after the 2020 Decennial Census. This dataset was manually updated as new members of the Board of Supervisors took office until 20 June 2019. Once the redistricting process was completed after the 2020 Decennial Census and a new dataset was published, this dataset became static and is no longer updated. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET This dataset can be joined to other datasets for analysis and reporting at the Supervisor District level. If you are building an automated reporting pipeline using Socrata API access, we recommend using this dataset only if you want static boundaries that reflect Supervisor District boundaries from 2012 to 2022. If you would to pull static boundaries from 2022, see the Supervisor Districts (2022) dataset. If you would like the boundaries to automatically update after each decennial census to reflect the most recent Supervisor District boundaries, see the Current Supervisor Districts dataset or the Current Supervisor Districts (trimmed to remove water and other non-populated City territories) dataset. The data is presented over multiple years and geographies. The data is sourced primarily from the American Community Survey. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED The raw data is obtained from the census API. Some estimates as published as-is and some are derived. C. UPDATE PROCESS New estimates and years of data are appended to this dataset. To request additional census data for San Francisco, email support@datasf.org D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET The dataset is long and contains multiple estimates, years and geographies. To use this dataset, you can filter by the overall segment which contains information about the source, years, geography, demographic category and reporting segment. For census data used in specific reports, you can filter to the reporting segment. To use a subset of the data, you can create a filtered view. San Francisco Sales Tax by Census Block (2018 - 2023)
공공데이터포털
A. SUMMARY This dataset contains sales tax collected in San Francisco for calendar years 2018 through 2023 (CY 2018 to 2023). Sales tax is aggregated, or summed, at the census block level. However, some census blocks have been combined to maintain the anonymity of businesses based on Taxation Code Section 7056. See “How to use this dataset” below for more details on how the data has been aggregated. Sales tax is collected by businesses on many types of transactions and regulated by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED Data is collected by HDL. The data is then aggregated based on the criteria outlined in the "How to use this dataset" section. C. UPDATE PROCESS This dataset will be updated annually. D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET This dataset can be used to analyze sales tax data over time across census blocks in San Francisco. Due to data privacy protection regulations for businesses, sales tax data is not available for all census blocks. Census blocks where there are less than 4 businesses paying sales tax or a single business that pays 80% or more of the total sales tax have been combined with neighboring Census Blocks to protect the confidentiality of affected businesses. Because of this aggregation, some Census Block groups in this dataset may change in future years as the number of businesses in a particular Census Block changes. The historical data changes based on audit findings and amended returns. If census block groupings change, it will happen when the dataset is updated - on an annual basis. These new blocks will be backfilled to previous years. Additionally, business payers with multiple locations (for example chain stores) are excluded because sales tax cannot be tied back to the location where it was collected. Finally, census blocks in the area field are from 2010 (GEOID10) and not from 2020. A map of this dataset can be viewed here.
