DATASET DESCRIPTION This dataset includes the total number of complaints filed with the APD Internal Affairs Unit, categorized by the sector in which the complaint occurred. GENERAL ORDERS RELATING TO ADMINISTRATIVE INVESTIGATIONS This document establishes the required process for the administrative investigation of alleged employee misconduct by Internal Affairs and the employee's chain-of-command. It also outlines the imposition of fair and equitable disciplinary action when misconduct is identified. Investigations conducted by APD Human Resources are governed by City Personnel Policies. This document does not supersede any rights or privileges afforded civilian employees through City Personnel Policies or sworn employees through the Meet and Confer Agreement, nor does it alter or supersede the powers vested in the Civilian Oversight Process of the Austin Police Department (APD) through that Agreement. In addition, nothing in this document limits or restricts the powers vested in the Chief of Police as the final decision maker in all disciplinary matters. AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT DATA DISCLAIMER 1.
