APOLLO 17 TRAVERSE GRAVIMETER DATA V1.0
This data set contains a table of readings from the Traverse Gravimeter Experiment performed during the Apollo 17 mission. The gravimeter, which recorded relative measurements of the local gravitational field at the lunar surface, was manually run by the astronauts near the Lunar Module landing site. The data table includes 23 valid gravity values, with calibrations and corrections, that were obtained from 12 to 14 December 1972. The absolute value for the Lunar Module site was estimated to be 162,694.6 milligal with an uncertainty of 5 milligal. Supporting documentation includes the Apollo 17 Traverse Gravimeter Experiment Final Report.

This bundle contains fixed-width ASCII files of daily, raw cleaned measurements acquired by the Lunar Surface Gravimeter (LSG) at the Apollo 17 landing site for the time span of 02 April through 30 June 1975. These data were extracted from NASA's original Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP) archive tapes, also known as ARCSAV tapes.

This data set contains archival derived science data, acquired from the Lunar Gravity Ranging System (LGRS) on the two spacecraft comprising the Gravity Recovery and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) mission. Measurements were made using the GRAIL spacecraft and Earth-based stations of the NASA Deep Space Network (DSN). The data set includes high-resolution spherical harmonic models of the Moon's gravity field, covariance matrices for some models, and maps for some models. It also contains a complete set of SPICE SPK Files ('kernel files'), which can be accessed using SPICE software. The SPK products in this data set differ from those archived by GRAIL navigation, as they were created by the GRAIL SDS and make use of the LGRS to provide a more refined solution of the spacecraft ephemerides than those provided by GRAIL navigation.
