Current measurements from five ARGOS-tracked drifters in the Mid-Atlantic Bight, in support of the DECADE project, in April 2003 (NCEI Accession 0002346)
This dataset includes current data collected by drifters deployed from 2003-04-14 to 2003-04-16 in the Middle Atlantic Bight continental shelf / offshore Delaware Bay. Instruments used include 3 Horizon Drifters using ARGOS system for location, 1 Brightwater Drifter using ARGOS system for location, and 1 Brightwater Drifter using GPS-ARGOS system for location. These data were collected to support investigations of across-margin transport of biologically, geological, and chemically important materials as part of the DECADE project. Data collectors: Dr. Richard Garvine, University of Delaware, College of Marine Studies and Dr. Charles Tilburg, University of Georgia.

Drifting buoy data from SVP Drifting Argos Buoys, deployed by the NOAA Coral Reef Ecosystems Division (CRED) near Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, 2003-2006 (NCEI Accession 0067473)
공공데이터포털
This data collection includes data from multiple SVP drifters deployed in the region of the Marianas Archipelago to assess ocean currents and sea surface temperature. Drifter data files contain drifter ids, year, month, day, hour, minute, second, GPS latitude and longitude. Drifter data was collected hourly. All dates and times are UTC. Contact Coral Reef Ecosystem Division (CRED), NOAA Pacific Island Fisheries Science Center for more information. These data were collected for coral reef ecosystem research. They are collected concurrently with ecological/biological reef assessments and monitoring data.
Satellite-tracked surface-layer drifters released at the 106-mile site from 1989-10-25 to 1991-09-18 (NCEI Accession 9300075)
공공데이터포털
Sewage disposal and temperature profile data were collected using bottle in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean from 25 October 1989 to 19 September 1991. Data were collected and submitted by John Hennessey of Battelle Marine Research laboratory in New England with support from the Ocean Dumping and SKYLAB projects. Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard Ocean Drifter (F156) format. The F156 data type contains time series ocean circulation data determined by tracking the movement of drifting buoys, drogues or other instrumented devices. Movement is reported as point-to-point geographic locations determined by shore-based, surface ship, aircraft or satellite observations. Data from both ocean currents and sea ice movement can be reported in this format over time periods ranging from minutes to months. Directions and speeds between individual observations may be computed from these data and presented in graphic or summary listing form to provide information on circulation patterns and mass transport in offshore and nearshore regions.%BR%%BR%Platform name (for platform acquiring data or deploying device), drogue characteristics, start and end positions and times, and observation frequency (if constant time interval) are reported for each series of observations. The data record comprises position, date and time for each observation. Other surface meteorological or oceanographic parameters (e.g., water temperature and salinity, air temperature and pressure, wind, waves) and subsurface data (depth, pressure, temperature) may also be reported. Text records may be used to report general comments or to describe individual drogue observations.

ARGOS drifting buoy data as part of the Coordinated Eastern Arctic Experiment (CEAREX) in the Arctic Ocean from 1988-09-16 to 1989-04-30 (NCEI Accession 9100070)
공공데이터포털
The ARGOS drifting buoy data in this accession was collected as part of Coordinated Eastern Arctic Experiment (CEAREX) from buoys deployed in Arctic ocean by Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory, Seattle WA. The data was collected from September 16, 1988 to April 30, 1989. The water depth and other drifting buoy data submitted by Ms. Lynn Long has been processed by NODC and is currently available in F156 Drifting Buoy file format.
WATER TEMPERATURE and Other Data from FIXED PLATFORM and Other Platforms From North Atlantic Ocean and Others from 1974-10-02 to 1980-04-28 (NCEI Accession 8700049)
공공데이터포털
Data from 42 drifter deployments were released by Dr. Phil Richardson of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Some of the data were collected jointly with Dr. Robert Cheney while at the University of Rhode Island. The data were collected from October 1974 to April 1980 in the North Western Atlantic. Each drifter has its own reference number starting with L00717 and ending in L00759. The documentation includes floater format and file organization.
