Oceanographic profile temperature, salinity and other measurements using CTD taken from NOAA Ship RONALD H. BROWN in the North Atlantic and Equatorial Atlantic from 2013-11-16 to 2013-12-05 (NCEI Accession 0120702)

The November - December 2013 PIRATA (Prediction and Research Moored Array in the Tropical Atlantic) Northeast Extension (PNE) and Aerosols and Ocean Science Expedition (AEROSE) cruise RB-13-06 was designed to (1) Collect oceanographic and meteorological observations in the northeastern tropical Atlantic, (2) Recover and redeploy the PIRATA Northeast Extensionsâ four Autonomous Temperature Line Acquisition (ATLAS) moorings, and (3) Recover and redeploy the TFlex mooring located near the 20°N, 38°W ATLAS mooring. The oceanographic component of (1) includes measurements of conductivity, temperature, pressure, oxygen concentration, and horizontal velocity from CTD casts and measurements of temperature and depth from XBT deployments. The majority of the measurements were acquired along the 23°W meridian, which samples the southeastern corner of the subtropical North Atlantic, a region of subduction that is important for the subtropical cell circulation; the Guinea Dome and oxygen minimum zone, where the subtropical and tropical gyres meet; and the tropical current system and equatorial waveguide. The meteorological component of (1) focused on measurements of atmospheric aerosols, temperature, water vapor, ozone, trace gases, winds, and other properties. All scientific goals of RB-13-06 were achieved.
Water temperature, salinity, and other data from CTD and water sampling taken from NOAA Ship Pisces, cruise PC-18-03, in the Northwestern Tropical Atlantic from 2018-06-03 to 2018-06-16 (NCEI Accession 0183583)

This dataset contains CTD profiles from cruise PC-18-03 by NOAA Ship Pisces in 2018. It had the objective to service a number of moored platforms for the NTAS and MOVE projects (Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station and Meridional Overturning Variability Experiment, resp.). To calibrate and validate the mooring data, CTD casts with salinity and oxygen water samples were collected. The CTD sensor data have been quality-controlled and adjusted using the water sample data. The raw CTD data files are already available through the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository (NOAA R2R) program at the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information under accession number 0176413. Data are in netCDF.
Water temperature, salinity, and other data from CTD and water sample data taken from research vessel Oceanus, cruise 449/1, in the Northwestern Tropical Atlantic, from 2008-07-18 to 2008-07-28 (NCEI Accession 0167644)

Cruise 449/1 by research vessel Oceanus in July 2008 had the objective to service a number of moored platforms for the Northwest Tropical Atlantic Station (NTAS) and Meridional Overturning Variability Experiment (MOVE) projects. To calibrate and validate the mooring data, CTD casts with salinity water samples were collected; these data are reported here. The CTD salinity data have been quality-controlled and adjusted using the water sample data. The raw CTD data files are included in this archive as well and contain other parameters such as oxygen, optical attenuation, and fluorescence, which are not thoroughly calibrated. The data format is NetCDF.
