FOIAXpress/PAL

FOIAXpress/PAL, allows members of the public to submit and track the status of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) requests electronically. The PAL portion of the FOIAXpress/PAL system is publicly accessible through the internet. All other parts of the system require access credentials to AIDNet in addition to FOIAXpress/PAL credentials. FOIAXpress allows USAID to manage the entire lifecycle of a FOIA request, from the initial request to the final delivery of records. The SaaS application can be securely accessed from web or mobile through AINS' FedRAMP, DISA Level II-certified cloud. The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requires FOIA reading Rooms contain four distinct categories of records. The four categories of Reading Room records are: 1) final opinions and orders made in the adjudication of cases; 2) specific agency policy statements; 3) administrative staff manuals and instructions to staff that affect a member of the public; and 4) records disclosed in response to a FOIA request that the agency determines have become or are likely to become the subject of subsequent requests for substantially the same records. Freedom of Information Act Archive includes TSA FOIA documents prior to May 2017.
