GALILEO MAGNETOMETER CRUISE DATA (IRC COORDINATES)
This data set contains data acquired by the Galileo Magnetometer during the Interplanetary Cruise to Jupiter. The data are at varying resolution depending on the averaging constant applied by the instrument. These data have been fully processed to remove instrument response function characteristics. The data are provided in physical units (nanoTesla) and in 2 coordinate systems. This set of data files contains data in Inertial Rotor Coordinates (IRC= despun spacecraft).

This data set contains high time resolution magnetic field vectors acquired by the Galileo magnetometer (MAG). It includes both satellite flyby and non-flyby data. These data were acquired in order to characterize various portions of the Jovian magnetosphere at high time resolution. The Galileo Magnetospheres Working Group (MWG) collectively acquired high time resolution data for short intervals in order to try and regain some of the magnetospheric science lost due to the low data rates of the phase 2 mission (no high gain antenna) mission. These observations are scattered in Jovian distance, local time, System III longitude, etc. in order to provide some insight into processes that may be active in different regions of the magnetosphere.

This data set contains raw magnetic field data acquired by the Galileo Orbiter magnetometer at Jupiter. The data set covers the time period from 1995-11-06T00:21:30 UT (Jupiter approach) until the end of mission (March 2003). The raw magnetometer data set includes various forms of data: recorded high time resolution, real-time survey (RTS), optimal averager (opt/avg), snapshot, and the calibration parameters required to generate processed data products. In addition corrected rotor angles and spacecraft relative clock and cone angles are provided to simplify future calibration and reprocessing of the data.

This data set contains magnetic field vectors acquired by the Galileo magnetometer before and during inbound shock and magnetopause crossings, the Io flyby on Dec 7 (341), 1995, and the part of the J0 orbital cruise. The data were acquired in the optimal averager mode of the instrument. These are raw data provided in their original EDR form. Processing done internal to the instrument remains in the data set.
