National Directory of Mental Health Treatment Facilities 2012
The National Directory of Mental Health Treatment Facilities for 2012 lists federal facilities (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers), state and local government (public) facilities, and private (for profit and nonprofit) facilities that responded to the 2010 National Mental Health Services Survey (N-MHSS), a national survey the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) conducts biennially. The facilities were eligible if they indicated a primary focus of providing mental health treatment services. The information about each facility that appears in this directory was provided by that facility in response to the 2010 N-MHSS. The directory is ordered alphabetically by state, by city within each state, and by facility name within each city.

The N-MHSS collects information from all known facilities in the United States, both public and private, that provide mental health treatment services to people with mental illness. The Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality(CBHSQ) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S.Department of Health and Human Services, plans and directs the N-MHSS.
