2012 NSDUH Data Collection Final Report
공공데이터포털
This is the data collection final report to the 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). The report documents sampling operations, counting and listing operations, data collection staffing, preparation of survey materials, field staff training, data collection procedures, response rates, and quality control procedures.
2013 NSDUH Data Collection Final Report
공공데이터포털
NSDUH is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency of the U.S. Public Health Service in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. SAMHSA contracted with RTI Internationalto conduct activities including sampling, counting and listing, screening, interviewing, data processing, and reporting. This report examines the preparations and procedures used in carrying out the data collection tasks and also presents the results of data collection. This report addresses the following topics relating to data collection for the 2013 NSDUH: Sampling and Counting and Listing Operations, Data Collection Staffing, Preparation of Survey Materials, Field Staff Training, Data Collection, Data Collection Results, and Quality Control.
2012 NSDUH Mental Health Surveillance Study Data Collection
공공데이터포털
This report describes the supplemental Mental Health Surveillance Study data collection to the 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). The MHSS staffing, data collection procedures and materials, data collection staff training, response rates, and quality control procedures.
2020 Methodological Summary and Definitions
공공데이터포털
Use this summary report to properly interpret 2020 NSDUH estimates of substance use and mental health issues. The report accompanies theannual detailed tablesand covers overall methodology, key definitions for measures and terms used in 2020 NSDUH reports and tables, and selected analyses of the measures and how they should be interpreted. The report is organized into six chapters:Introduction.Description of the survey, including information about the sample design, data collection procedures, and key aspects of data processing such as development of the analysis weights.Technical details on the statistical methods and measurement, such as suppression criteria for unreliable estimates, statistical testing procedures, issues around data accuracy, and measurement issues for selected substance use and mental health measures.Special topics related to prescription psychotherapeutic drugs.A comparison between NSDUH and other sources of data on substance use and mental health issues, including data sources for populations outside the NSDUH target population.A more in-depth view of special methodological issues for the 2020 NSDUH, including those related to methodological changes made because of the Coronavirus 2019 Pandemic. An appendix covers key definitions used in NSDUH reports and tables.
2018 Methodological Summary and Definitions
공공데이터포털
This report summarizes the 2018 NSDUH methods and other supporting information relevant to estimates of substance use and mental health issues, and organized into five chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction to the report. Chapter 2 describes the survey, including information about the sample design; data collection procedures; and key aspects of data processing, such as development of analysis weights. Chapter 3 presents technical details on the statistical methods and measurement, such as suppression criteria for unreliable estimates, statistical testing procedures, and issues for selected substance use and mental health measures. Chapter 4 covers special topics related to prescription psychotherapeutic drugs. Chapter 5 describes other sources of data on substance use and mental health issues, including data sources for populations outside the NSDUH target population. Appendix A is a glossary that covers key definitions for use as a resource with the 2018 NSDUH reports and detailed tables. Appendix B provides a list of contributors to the report.
NSDUH 2020 Field Interviewer Manual
공공데이터포털
This detailed manual was used as a training guide for the Field Interviewers (FIs) who conducted the in-person 2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). It covers the information presented at the intensive training for new FIs. Although it is written for NSDUH FIs, researchers may find it helpful for learning about data collection challenges that could affect data quality. It also may be helpful for those designing their own field operations. The manual includes:An introduction to the survey;A guide to what is expected of FIs;Copies of materials that were mailed or given to respondents;FI instructions for locating sample dwelling units, contacting residents, obtaining participation, conducting the screening and interview, documenting their experiences; andQuality control and administrative procedures for FIs.
NSDUH 2021 Sample Experience Report
공공데이터포털
This report is a continuation of the 2021National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) Sample Design Report. It further documents the 2021 NSDUH sample experiences, by comparing expected outcomes with what actually occurred, and documenting unexpected issues that came up during the year. The report also summarizes the information about the sample design that is more thoroughly detailed in the previous report.Chapter 1 introduces the report and summarizes the impact of the coronavirus 2019 pandemic on the sample design and data collection. Chapter 2 revisits the 2021 sample design. Chapters 3, 4, and 5 document the sample experiences at the third, fourth, and fifth stages of sample selection, respectively. Finally, Chapter 6 compares the observed and expected precisions, and also examines trends in average design effects over time. The document is available as a PDF.
