The invention relates to a device and a method for cooling strip substrates in vacuo, whereby a substrate (1) is run such as to wrap around a convex cooling surface, at least partly in a contact region (3) and a gap (10) is formed between the substrate (1) and the cooling surface in the contact region (3), whereby, in at least one first region (11) of the gap (10), a fluid is introduced through the cooling surface and said fluid is at least partly drained through the cooling surface from at least one second region (12; 13) of the gap (10).

The device has a part fixed to a bottle by straps (3, 4) and presenting two vertical passages. Another part is fixed to a splash plate and supports the former part. The latter part is equipped with vertical rods directed upwards on which the passages are threaded. The latter part is constituted of a base to support the former part. A nozzle of the bottle is connected to a pressure reducing valve fixed to the plate, by screwing. The invention relates to a storage machine (1) for articles which comprises a plurality of compartments which are open to one side and which are configured on a rotatably mounted rotary magazine (10) that is at least partially surrounded by a housing (21) or any other delimitation. The storage machine further comprises at least one closing element (13), adjustable relative to a predefined center access opening (22) in the housing (21) and controlling, especially releasing or preventing, access to defined or individual compartments. The closing element (13) comprises at least one closing shutter that is mounted in such a manner as to be adjustable relative to the access opening (22) or the housing (21), and openings that are predefined in terms of size and/or height position and that are at least approximately adapted to the respective compartment openings and/or compartment height positions, and at least one door (15) that is mounted upstream of the compartments with respect to the direction of access or depth. Said door optionally releases or prevents access to the closing shutter or to a compartment positioned behind an opening.

The invention relates to a method for the direct cooling of reaction media. Said method is characterised in that a suitable liquid gas, which acts as a coolant, is introduced below the surface of the reaction mixture.

The invention relates to a pipe which is intended, in particular, for an air intake circuit in a motor vehicle engine. The inventive pipe is characterised in that it consists of a structure comprising at least: an inner layer (10) which is made from a polar material that is at least partially formed from an elastomer selected from ethylene and acrylic acid copolymers, ethylene and vinyl acetate copolymers or acrylate polymers; a flexible outer layer (16) which is formed from an apolar material such as an EPDM; and an intermediate layer (12) which facilitates the adhesion between the inner and outer layer (10 and 16).

The present invention relates to a packaging machine (500) for packaging pourable food products and producing sealed packages, comprising means for longitudinally sealing a web of continuous packaging material to form a tube, and sealing means for clamping and sealing the product-filled tube at spaced intervals. Said sealing means comprises a first two sets of mutually cooperating first heat sealing jaws (10) and first counter sealing jaws (20) respectively, and a second two sets of mutually cooperating second heat sealing jaws (10) and second counter sealing jaws (20) respectively. The sealing jaws (10,20) of at least one of said first and second two sets are carried by chain conveyors which are manageable between a first and a second state to make the packaging machine operable in a first state and in a second state, allowing manufacturing of different types of packages.

The invention relates to a method for preparing a polymer conjugate, in which a water-soluble polymer employed, the polymer having a linear or branched water-soluble polymer backbone and, at one end of the backbone, a branched moiety linked with two free reactive groups capable of covalent bonding to another molecule. Most specificly, it relates to an activated, substantially water soluble poly(ethylene glycol) having a linear or branched poly(ethylene glycol) backbone and at least one terminus linked to the backbone through a hydrolytically stable linkage, wherein the terminus is branched and has proximal reactive groups is reacted with active moieties in a biologically active agent such as a protein or peptide thus forming conjugates between the activated poly(ethylene glycol) and the biologically active agent.

The device has a flexible conductor fixed on one side to a movable contact (16.2) and fixed on another side to a part (11.1) of an electric circuit (11). The conductor comprises of a flexible tube (21), electrically conductive by surface, having low flexural rigidity to bend without being crushed and high torsional rigidity to take a form and a position reproducible in a closed state. The present invention relates to a device for handling banknotes, comprising a transporting system (1), an infeeding and outfeeding unit (2), an identifying unit (3) as well as a first, second and so on to a last storage unit (41, 42, . . . , 4n), each one adapted to the storage of banknotes. The device is adapted to an infeed of a banknote through the infeeding and outfeeding unit (2), a transportation of the banknote by means of the transporting system (1) past the identifying unit (3), an identification of the banknote, a transportation of the banknote to a storage unit intended for the banknote according to the identification, as well as an infeed of the banknote to the intended storage unit. Particularly, it is taught that the device comprises a central control unit (5), adapted to communicate with a first local control unit (51) arranged at the first storage unit (41,) a second local control unit (52) arranged at the second storage unit (42) and so on to a last local control unit (5n) arranged at the last storage unit (4n). The central unit (5) is further adapted to communicate with a position sensor (6) as well as the identifying unit (3). The respective control unit (5, 51, 52, . . . , 5n) has a common synchronous apprehension of the position of the transporting system 1, and when the identifying unit (3) has identified a banknote, and when the position sensor (6) has indicated the position of the banknote in the transporting system (1), the central control unit (5) communicates the position of the banknote to the intended local control, unit (52), which directs the storage unit (42) associated therewith to an infeed, being independent of other units, of the banknote to the storage unit (42) when the position in the transporting system (1) reaches the intended storage unit (42).
