A manually-actuated device for the deliver of a volume of liquid which includes an outlet through which liquid is in use delivered and a cover member which is movably disposed relative to the housing between a first position in which the cover member at least partly covers the outlet and a second position in which the cover member acts as a lever which in use is acted upon by a user to actuate the delivery device.

The invention concerns a device (1) for manipulating tools comprising two parts, said device being of the type consisting of a frame and at least one tray forming a table, designed to receive the mold. The invention is characterized in that it comprises two horizontally arranged trays (6, 9-7, 8) one of which is arranged sliding on the frame to be mobile in translation relative to the other tray, from a close position to a remote position and inversely, so as to enable the tool to be manually opened and closed.

An apparatus is disclosed for a contact for a portable electronic device. The contact comprises a first contact for maintaining elastic connectivity with the mating contact, a second contact for providing an elastic force to push the first contact toward the mating contact to support the first contact, and a member for mounting the first contact and the second contact.

A field instrument and system for obtaining pressure, flow and temperature data from a facility. The field instrument includes an enclosure having an opening therein. An integrated analog sensor is sealingly contained within the opening. The field instrument further contains an external analog sensor. An analog to digital converter converts the analog signals to digital readings. An external digital sensor is also provided, with the digital output being communicated through a second opening within the enclosure. A control member that receives, stores and processes the digital readings is positioned within the enclosure. A communication module is included to transmit the digital readings to a remote computer. The communication module allows for two way communication between the field instrument and remote computer. The remote computer may be a server that allows for access by many users. The communication module also allows for locally accessing the digital readings via a serial port to a local terminal.

A system is described for deriving benefits from the reception and processing of auxiliary data by a hand-held device 12, such as a smart card, personal digital assistant ("PDA"), or mobile phone. Aiming light 24 and/or audio transducer 34 alert the user of hand-held device 12 that auxiliary data is being received. The auxiliary data is then utilized by hand-held device 12. The user receives benefits such as promotional opportunities resulting from the reception of the auxiliary data. Such opportunities are expressed on visual display 20, which may include a series of lights 20a, 20b, 20c, and/or 20d, or an LCD 44. Hand-held device 12 may have housing 14 in various shapes to promote various promotional opportunities. On front surface 16 of the hand-held device may have indication of a sponsor 17.

The present invention concerns a means for controlling and/or measuring the flow of a running fluid, wherein the throttling of the flow is controlled utilizing the fluid's own differential pressure arising from the flow. The valve comprises a cover provided with a flow aperture, a main valve disc and control means consisting of a cylinder volume/piston assembly, the movement of said piston being connected to the main valve disc, and wherein the cylinder volume has been connected by a first opening (d1 min ) to the high pressure side and by a second opening (d2 min ) to the low pressure side so that the ratio of the areas of the openings is adjustable. The means comprises at least one sensing member by the aid of which the position of a part of the cylinder volume/piston assembly moving axially in the direction of the flow is measured; a data processing unit, to which the signal from the sensing member is conveyed after appropriate processing; a memory unit, in the first part of which have been stored data concerning the characteristic curve of the valve or equivalent, from which based on the signal from said sensing element, with the aid of the data processing unit, the variations of volumetric flow and or pressure can be calculated, and in the second part of said memory unit being stored the desired values of the volumetric flow and/or pressure, with which the calculated values mentioned before are compared; and at least one actuator by the aid of which the ratio of areas of the openings (d1 min , d2 min ) is adjustable for realizing the desired volumetric flow and/or pressure.

The present invention is a compact apparatus and method that provides an efficient manner for monitoring the condition and level of a functional fluid directly in operating equipment. A sensor device is provided that includes a plurality of liquid sensors and a plurality of vapor sensors that when used in conjunction with one another at different temperatures, can provide a thorough evaluation of the oxidative degradation, liquid contamination and solid contamination of the fluid to detect the end of the useful life of the fluid. By providing liquid sensors and vapor sensors on the same device, the present invention allows for a compact, efficient, and economically feasible manner to monitor the condition of fluid as well as detecting abnormal operating conditions prior to further component damage and eventual equipment failure.

The invention relates to a directional antenna mechanism of a mobile radio tracking receiver, comprising four antenna elements (12), which are fastened by a pivot pin (14) to the body (10) of the radio tracking receiver. For the duration of the use, the antenna elements are turned to an operating position, in which they are pointed away from the body. After use, the antenna elements can be turned to a transport position, in which the antenna elements are placed inside the body in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the body. In the invention, at least two antenna elements are connected to each other by a mechanism in a way that moving the first antenna element to the operating position or the transport position also causes the second antenna element to move to the same position simultaneously. Preferably, all the antenna elements are connected to each other by a mechanism in a way that moving one antenna element to the operating position or the transport position causes all the antenna elements to move to a corresponding position simultaneously. The mechanism according to the invention comprises a movable transmission rod (16) arranged inside the body, with toothings (26) and toothed discs (22) fastened to the ends of the antenna elements, contacting to the toothings of the transmission rod. The transmission rod is moved either manually by a lever (28) fastened to the transmission rod or by an actuator, such as an electric motor, arranged inside the body.

A device for the measurement of chemical and/or biological samples, in particular by means of luminescence spectroscopy, comprises an irradiation unit (12), a sample receiver (10), at least one optical unit (30) and a detector unit (40). Electromagnetic radiation of various wavelength ranges and/or polarisations are led to the sample (10) from the irradiation unit (12). The colour marker in the sample (10), which contains at least one colour marker, is stimulated into producing luminescence and gives off light. The emitted light is led by means of an optical unit in the direction of an optical unit. The light emitted by the colour markers is detected by detectors (42,44,46, 48) in the detector unit. According to the invention, the measurement results may be improved on the irradiation unit (12) generating a pulsed irradiation. The irradiation unit is thus preferably controlled by a control unit (18) in such a way that the irradiation pulses impinge on the sample (10) in a temporal sequence.

The present invention concerns a method for controlling the transfer of signals representatives of a group of data in a wireless telecommunication network comprising a first telecommunication device linked through plural second telecommunication devices through the wireless network, the first telecommunication device comprising at least two antennas, at least one of the second telecommunication devices comprising at least two antennas. The first telecommunication device calculates at least two information, each information being representative of the achievable link conditions between the first telecommunication device and one second telecommunication device, determines which second telecommunication device is involved in the transfer of the group of data through the link according to the determined information and determines at least a weighting vector to be used for the transfer of the group of data, the elements of the weighting vector weighting the signals representatives of the group of data transferred through at least two antennas.
