PMI Impact Malaria Cameroon: Community Health Worker Training of Trainers, 2019-2021

This data asset contains data from the training of trainers of community health workers (CHW). Impact Malaria (IM) supported the training and capacity building of CHW trainers, with particular emphasis on six districts in the North (Garoua 1, Guider, Golombe, Ngong, Tcholiré, and Touboro) and ten districts of the Far North (Bogo, Bourha, Goulfey, Hina, Kaele, Mada, Mokolo, Moutourwa, Roua, and Tokombere) where there are currently established community health workers. IM worked with these districts to identify and select CHW trainers at the health district level, particularly among staff. IM supported the design, production and distribution of training materials and working tools, and trained 74 CHW trainers.

This data asset contains data from PMI Impact Malaria (IM) Basic Malaria Diagnostic Refresher Training (MDRT). IM supported the training and capacity building of laboratory technicians in North and Far North districts of Cameroon on diagnostic management through six training modules on theory, parasite detection, parasite identification, parasite density, sensitivity, and specificity. IM worked with the districts to identify the laboratory technicians to be trained.

IM Madagascar supported the district of Faratsiho (one of the three pilot districts) for the training of community health workers (CHWs) in detection, management, investigation, and reporting in malaria cases. The topics of the training were: malaria prevention, diagnosis, case management, surveillance, monitoring by investigation around a case and regular data reporting.
