RCRA Generators
공공데이터포털
EPA regulates hazardous waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to ensure these wastes are managed in ways that protect human health and the environment. Generators of hazardous waste are regulated based on the amount of hazardous waste they generate in a calendar month, not the size of their business or facility. This data includes 5 categories of hazardous waste generators: LQG: Large Quantity Generators (LQGs), as part of EPA’s RCRAInfo system, generate 1,000 kilograms per month or more of hazardous waste or more than one kilogram per month of acutely hazardous waste. The data are extracted from RCRAInfo with the GENSTATUS flag that equals “LQG”. SQG: Small Quantity Generators (SQGs), as part of EPA’s RCRAInfo system, generate more than 100 kilograms, but less than 1,000 kilograms of hazardous waste per month. The data are extracted from RCRAInfo with the GENSTATUS flag that equals “SQG”. VSQG: Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQGs), as part of EPA’s RCRAInfo system, generate 100 kilograms or less per month of hazardous waste or one kilogram or less per month of acutely hazardous waste. The data are extracted from RCRAInfo with the GENSTATUS flag that equals “VSQG”. CEG: Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQGs), as part of EPA’s RCRAInfo system, generate no more than 100 kilograms of hazardous waste per month. The data are extracted from RCRAInfo with the GENSTATUS flag that equals “CEG” (CEG is a standardized tag for CESQG in RCRAInfo database). TDSF: The Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDF) are the generators of EPA’s RCRAInfo system that generate, treat, store, and dispose of hazardous waste. The data are extracted from RCRAInfo with the ACTIVE_SITE flag that contains “P”.
Hazardous Waste Manifest Data (CT) 1984 – 2008

NOTES: 1. Please use this link to leave the data view to see the full description: https://data.ct.gov/Environment-and-Natural-Resources/Hazardous-Waste-Manifest-Data-CT-1984-2008/h6d8-qiar 2. Please Use ALL CAPS when searching using the "Filter" function on text such as: LITCHFIELD. But not needed for the upper right corner "Find in this Dataset" search where for example "Litchfield" can be used. Dataset Description: We know there are errors in the data although we strive to minimize them. Examples include: • Manifests completed incorrectly by the generator or the transporter - data was entered based on the incorrect information. We can only enter the information we receive. • Data entry errors – we now have QA/QC procedures in place to prevent or catch and fix a lot of these. • Historically there are multiple records of the same generator. Each variation in spelling in name or address generated a separate handler record. We have worked to minimize these but many remain. The good news is that as long as they all have the same EPA ID they will all show up in your search results. • Handlers provide erroneous data to obtain an EPA ID - data entry was based on erroneous information. Examples include incorrect or bogus addresses and names. There are also a lot of MISSPELLED NAMES AND ADDRESSES! • Missing manifests – Not every required manifest gets submitted to DEEP. Also, of the more than 100,000 paper manifests we receive each year, some were incorrectly handled and never entered. • Missing data – we know that the records for approximately 25 boxes of manifests, mostly prior to 1985 were lost from the database in the 1980’s. • Translation errors – the data has been migrated to newer data platforms numerous times, and each time there have been errors and data losses. • Wastes incorrectly entered – mostly due to complex names that were difficult to spell, or typos in quantities or units of measure. Since Summer 2019, scanned images of manifest hardcopies may be viewed at the DEEP Document Online Search Portal: https://filings.deep.ct.gov/DEEPDocumentSearchPortal/
Cleanups In My Community (CIMC) - Federal Facility RCRA Sites, National Layer
공공데이터포털
Federal facilities are properties owned by the federal government. This data layer provides access to Federal facilities that are Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) sites as part of the CIMC web service. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, among other things, helps ensure that wastes are managed in an environmentally sound manner so as to protect human health and the environment from the potential hazards of waste disposal. In particular, RCRA tightly regulates all hazardous waste from "cradle to grave." In general, all generators, transporters, treaters, storers, and disposers of hazardous waste are required to provide information about their activities to state environmental agencies. These agencies, in turn pass on the information to regional and national EPA offices. Accidents or other activities at facilities that treat, store or dispose of hazardous wastes have sometimes led to the release of hazardous waste or hazardous constituents into soil, ground water, surface water, or air. When that happens, the RCRA Corrective Action program is one program that may be used to accomplish the necessary cleanup. In Cleanups in My Community, you can map or list RCRA Corrective Action sites that are currently undergoing corrective action, sites for which a remedy has been selected, sites for which construction has been completed, and sites where the corrective action cleanup is complete. This data layer shows those RCRA sites that are located at Federal Facilities. Note: RCRA facilities which are not undergoing corrective action are not considered “Cleanups” in Cleanups in My Community. The complete set of RCRA facilities can be accessed via the EPA RCRA database in Envirofacts (https://enviro.epa.gov/facts/rcrainfo/search.html). The CIMC web service was initially published in 2013, but the data are updated twice a month. The full schedule for data updates in CIMC is located here: https://ofmpub.epa.gov/frs_public2/frs_html_public_pages.frs_refresh_stats.
