This dataset was collected as an NCALM Seed grant for PI Katherine Lowe, University of Michigan, for the purpose of studying the effects of topography on peak ground acceleration. The requested survey area consisted of a polygon located 70 km northwest of Los Angeles, CA. The polygon encloses approximately 45.13 square km.

This collection of ALSM data near Parkfield, California was collected as an NCALM Seed grant for Michael Vadman, Virginia Tech University. This dataset provides an opportunity to create a time-series of spatially-dense displacement measurements across the creeping/transitional portion of the San Andreas fault extending from 1929 to the present. The targeted portion of the fault has experienced fairly regular M5-6 earthquakes since the ~M7.9 1857 Fort Tejon earthquake, which ruptured from Parkfield to San Bernardino.

This dataset, located within the San Bernardino Mountains, CA, was collected as an NCALM Seed grant for Jesse Waco, San Jose State University, Geology Department to support an investigation of topographic stress control on subsurface weathered zone and seismic site conditions in southern California. The requested survey area is located approximately 25 km northwest of Palm Springs, CA. The polygon encloses approximately 64 km2. Note: A considerable percentage of the points in this dataset were classified as "building" (LAS class 6) although visual inspection indicates these points are mostly above-ground vegetation. For the purposes of distribution through OpenTopography, these points have been grouped with "unclassified" (LAS class 1) points to reduce point cloud classification to either "ground" or "unclassified" below.
