The Texas Open Data Portal Resource Guide 2025 is produced by the Texas Department of Information Resources to assist publishing organizations in their use of the Open Data Portal. While not exhaustive, this document serves as a guide in establishing an open data governance framework, creating an open data inventory, and publishing open data in an efficient and standardized manner.

The Open Data Portal (ODP) is our new hub for open data, built on the idea of finding several datasets in one platform so anyone can easily search and extract the data they need. The ODP is a unified platform that offers public patent data in one place. Enhanced APIs and robust documentation help improve the entire data experience. Customer demand for our data has grown rapidly since the launch of the original Open Data Portal initiative in 2015 � from 50 users to millions. The new Open Data Portal is the next step in the USPTO journey to amplify the public value, accessibility, and efficiency of patent data sharing. ODP will fold several data dissemination services into one central website that empowers you to rapidly discover and easily extract USPTO data however you want. Improved Patent Examination Data System (PEDS) capabilities, Bulk Data Storage System (BDSS), and Developer Hub features and datasets will be included in this tool.

Describes information about the OIG DOC

The Open Data Portal (ODP) API allows you to access USPTO data at no cost � with several ways to do it. The ODP API uses HTTP, GET, and POST requests to return responses in JSON format. ODP also provides REST APIs, which provide rich search capabilities and allow users to retrieve patent application data, continuity data, documents, patent term adjustment data, and much more. You must get an API Key to use the ODP API. Note: The data products on our website allow users to download data without the need for an API key. Using ODP APIs will require an API key.

This is the current version of Oregon's Open Data Standard. The Open Data Standard identifies requirements for agencies publishing open data in compliance with ORS 276a.350-374.
