Prescription Monitoring Program: Top 5 Benzodiazepine Prescriptions Dispensed
This dataset includes the Top 5 benzodiazepine prescriptions dispensed on a quarterly basis, showing the last day of the preceding quarter. Drug names presented are the generic classification. Prescription benzodiazepines are controlled substances, which slow down the central nervous system, and often used to relieve anxiety and muscle spasms, as well as reduce seizures.

This dataset provides the number of benzodiazepine prescriptions dispensed per provider specialty. The specialties are based on CMS taxonomy.
Prescription Monitoring Program: Prescription Dispensations
공공데이터포털
This dataset provides the prescription count for controlled substances, non-controlled substances, opioids, benzodiazepine, stimulant, gabapentin, & naloxone dispensations in the state. It only includes dispensations to CT residents reported to the CT Prescription Monitoring & Reporting System (CPMRS). Controlled substances are those that have been categorized as schedule II - V. Opioid Agonists are generally used to treat moderate to severe pain typically associated with injury, surgery, or various health conditions. Opioid partial agonists bind to opioid receptor sites and works slowly in the body to help prevent withdrawals and reduce cravings for opioid drugs. Opiate partial agonists are used to treat opioid use disorder. Prescription opioid partial agonists include buprenorphine, butorphanol, and pentazocine. Benzodiazepines slow down the central nervous system, and often used to relieve anxiety and muscle spasms, as well as reduce seizures. Stimulants increase alertness and energy, enhancing focus. Stimulants are commonly used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug, used to treat seizures and relieve pain. Naloxone is used to quickly reverse an opioid overdose. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist, and works by attaching to opioid receptors, to reverse and block the effects of other opioids.
Prescription Monitoring Program: Opioid Agonist Prescriptions by Prescriber Specialty
공공데이터포털
This dataset provides the number of opioid agonist prescriptions dispensed per provider specialty. The specialties are based on CMS taxonomy.

Prescription Monitoring Program: CT Prescribers who Prescribed Controlled Substances II - V
공공데이터포털
This provides the number of CT prescribers who prescribed a controlled substance drug schedule II -V. In CT, only prescribers who posses an active controlled substance registration (CSP) & DEA number are allowed to prescribed a controlled substance.
Prescription Monitoring Program: CT Prescription Monitoring & Reporting System (CPMRS) Gateway Connections and Usage
공공데이터포털
This dataset shows the number of authorized licensees, gateway licensees who searched and the number of searches. The gateway allows prescribers and pharmacists to search the patients directly through their electronic health records (EHRs) and pharmacy management systems (PMS)
Prescription Monitoring Program: Average Days Supply and Daily Morphine Milligram Equivalent (MME)
공공데이터포털
This dataset shows the average days supply and daily morphine milligram equivalent (MME) of opioid prescription dispensed. The morphine milligram equivalent is an opioid dosage equivalent to morphine. This measurement is used to determine the abuse and overdose potential, and to set thresholds for prescribing and dispensing opioid pain relievers. The lowest effective dosage is set at less than 50 MME and the highest is greater than 90 MME.

These data are part of NACJD's Fast Track Release and are distributed as they were received from the data depositor. The files have been zipped by NACJD for release, but not checked or processed except for the removal of direct identifiers. Users should refer to the accompanying readme file for a brief description of the files available with this collection and consult the investigator(s) if further information is needed. The misuse, abuse and diversion of controlled substances have reached epidemic proportion in the United States. Contributing to this problem are providers who over-prescribe these substances. The researchers in this study developed a series of metrics to identify providers manifesting unusual prescribing practices using one state's prescription monitoring program. The collection includes 1 Excel data file with 10,000 cases and 13 variables (2015_NC_PDMP_Synthetic_Data_Set.xlsx). Users should note the included data file is a synthetic dataset constructed with the same variance and distributions as the original data.
