Utah FORGE: Earth Model Native State Simulation Results
Utah FORGE phase 2C Native State Simulation zip contains the data used for the boundary conditions and subsequent native state simulation results obtained using the simulation code FALCON. Data are from the nodes of the simulation domain, with used a uniform 50m spacing over a 2500 X 2500 X 2750m domain approximately centered on the FORGE footprint. There is also a read me text file, that is included, containing metadata. The Reservoir Porosity and Upscale DFN Permeability zip contains the data used for the spatial distribution of the anisotropic permeability and porosity used in the native state simulation of the Utah FORGE site. This is the Phase 3 native state model update. The Phase 3 numerical model represents a significant subsurface volume below the FORGE site footprint. The model domain of 4.0 km x 4.0 km x 4.2 km is located approximately between depths of 4000 to 4200 meters below land surface. This data archive consists of 10 files, 4 of which are simulation input files and the remaining 6 are simulation output files. There is an included readme.txt file that contains details on each of the data files. The input files include meshes, FALCON code inputs, tabulated data of water properties, temperature values, and model boundaries. The output files include simulation outfiles and point data of modeled material properties.

The submission includes FALCON input file and mesh for the an initial pressure-temperature simulation, and a second set for pressure-temperature-displacement simulation. All simulations are steady state. Data and input for the FORGE Phase 2 native state model were compiled from historic and FORGE specific characterization efforts. The simulations look to find the in-situ pressure, temperature, and stress distributions in the vicinity of the Utah FORGE site. The purpose of the native state model was to establish a baseline for all other modeling analyses?so that the whole modeling team can start from a consistent set of conditions which makes for comparison of results more straightforward and meaningful. Requires the FALCON simulator which can be found in the "FALCON Simulator" link in the submission. Instructions for compiling and running FALCON can be found on the FORGE branch of the FALCON git repository in the README.

Utah FORGE: Data for 3-D Model Development - Lithology, Temperature, Pressure, and Stress

This submission comprises two downloadable .zip archives. Each archive contains spreadsheets with 3-D data and a .txt document describing the data. The Mesh Files .zip download contains data regarding the lithologic contacts of the granitoid and overlying sedimentary basin fill. The Initial Conditions .zip download contains data regarding temperature, pressure, and stress. These data were generated during Utah FORGE Phase 2 and exported from Seequent Leapfrog Geothermal. They are intended for use in 3-D earth modeling.

Examples include land surface (based on 10-meter DEM), the granitoid-basin fill contact, several faults, and also interpolated temperature isosurfaces for 175 and 225 degrees C. All data are georeferenced to UTM, zone 12N, NAD 83, NAVD 88.

This submission contains a cumulative record of one-dimensional temperature modeling based off of well data in the vicinity of the Utah FORGE site. Temperature log data from wells used, and in some cases were extrapolated below the bottom of a number of wells. The data were corrected for elevation and location using the Utah FORGE earth model. These data locations correspond to well locations provided in GDR Submission 1111 (linked below). All data are georeferenced to UTM, zone 12N, NAD 83, NAVD 88.
