This data release includes metadata and tabular datasets that document (1) Ceratocystis qPCR DNA detections in Passive Environmental Samplers (PES), (2) Ceratocystis qPCR DNA detections after pre-amplification, (3) wood and frass particle counts detected in PES (4) location of individual PES within the study area (5) ambrosia beetle gallery counts on felled ʻōhiʻa (6) ambrosia beetle gallery counts on insecticide treated bolts and (7) ambrosia beetles trapped in cross-vein panel traps. Data were used in the analysis of the manuscript "Effectiveness of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death management strategies at a focal disease outbreak on Hawaiʻi Island."

These data contain the longhorn beetle (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) and ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Scolytinae) trap data collected at Waipunalei, Hawaii Island.

This data release includes data and metadata containing (1) study site locations and elevation where bolts (tree stem sections) infected with Ceratocystis lukuohia and/or C. huliohia were collected on Hawai'i Island, (2) the ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Scolytinae) species that were reared from bolts, (3) Ceratocystis spp. viability results from culturing tests of the beetles' frass, (4) frass production estimates from three ambrosia beetle species, and (5) quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) DNA results of viability subcultures. Data were used in the analysis for the manuscript "Ambrosia beetle communities and frass production in ʻōhiʻa (Metrosideros polymorpha) infected with Ceratocystis fungi responsible for Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death." Beetles and frass were collected in the lab from Rapid 'Ōhiʻa Death-infected trees from 2018-2019.

These data contain the number of beetle attacks on the cut surface ʻōhiʻa bolts that were either treated with Bifen IT insecticide (Bifenthrin 7.9%) or left untreated.

This data release includes data and metadata documenting Ceratocystis viability, moisture content, and beetle activity in felled and tarped ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) trees previously having been determined to be infected with either Ceratocystis lukuohia or Ceratocystis huliohia, the fungi that cause rapid ʻōhiʻa death (ROD).

These data include bark and ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species directly reared from ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) wood infected with either Ceratocystis lukuohia or Ceratocystis huliohia, the pathogens responsible for Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD). Rearing took place on Kauaʻi between January 2020 and November 2021.

These data contain the study site locations and elevation information where bolts (tree stem sections) infected with Ceratocystis lukuohia and/or C. huliohia were collected on Hawai'i Island.

This data release includes data and metadata containing (1) ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) trapping data using two different lures at Waiākea Forest Reserve and ʻŌlaʻa Forest of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, (2) ambrosia beetle trapping data using paired lures and repellents from two trials conducted at Waiākea Forest Reserve, and (3) the localities of all traps used in both trapping experiments. Data were used in the manuscript titled, "The use of semiochemicals for attracting and repelling invasive ambrosia beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death-infected forests."

These data contain the raw quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) results for all Ceratocystis lukuohia and huliohia testing of environmental DNA (eDNA) collected in the wind column using Passive Environmental Samplers (PES).

This data release includes data and metadata containing documentation of 1) ambrosia beetle (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) species caught in cross-vane panel traps (CVPT) in ʻōhiʻa (Metrosideros polymorpha) dominated forests with geographical locations and elevations and 2) ambrosia beetle species reared directly from cut ʻōhiʻa tree sections (bolts) infected with Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death (ROD) causing pathogens at various elevations from Kauaʻi, HI USA. Data were used in a study describing bark and ambrosia beetles associated with ROD and ʻōhiʻa lehua forests on Kauaʻi.
