This dataset consists of one table, providing the results of surveys conducted to document the summer at-sea distribution and abundance of marine birds and mammals in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Surveys followed standard U.S. Fish and Wildlife protocols for strip surveys. Data include: transect ID, date, time, latitude, longitude, record number, data type, animal species, count, behavior, plumage, distance, observers, observer conditions, the altitude of the survey, ice presence, trip ID, beaufort, transect type, transect width, and comments.

The data are presented in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format exported from a Microsoft Access relational database. The tables are: 1) invertebrate taxonomy, 2) limpet size, 3) limpet counts, 4) Nucella, Katharina, and Lirabuccinum counts, 5) rocky intertidal cover, 6) rocky intertidal percent cover, 7) rocky intertidal top layer percent cover, 8) rocky intertidal substrate percent cover, 9) sea star counts, and 10) sea star disease.
