Albatross Bay Nutrient Data 1991-1992
Nutrients in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria, northern Australia, were examined monthly between August 1991 and April 1992. Levels of nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicate were measured, at four sites, at different depths in the water column.

Albatross Bay Phytoplankton Data 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
The biomass and species composition of tropical phytoplankton in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria, northern Australia, were examined monthly for six years between March 1986 and April 1992. Phytoplankton taxonomic groups were identified to genus level, and described as dominant, common or rare. Refer to the cited publication for detailed methodology.
Nutrient sampling in the coastal waters of south eastern Tasmania
공공데이터포털
Biologically relevant macronutrients, nitrate + nitrite, silicate, phosphate and ammonia, were measured at all sites throughout the study. Nitrate + nitrite values (NOx) at the surface showed clear seasonal trends, peaking over winter and drawing down to near zero in summer and autumn. Phosphate concentrations also reached a peak in winter, which was associated with Southern Ocean influence. Median ammonium concentrations at all sites were generally <0.5 μM, with no clear peaks in any season or month. Overall, the lowest values were measured in August and other months showed reasonable spread around the median. Median silicate concentrations were consistently highest at sites 1 and 9, followed by site 5. Water from the River Derwent flows through site 1, then tracks east towards site 9 then site 5. Seasonally, silicate was generally highest in winter when the River Derwent outflow is also greatest.
Albatross Bay Prawn Larval Data 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Monthly cruises were carried out between March 1986 and April 1992, at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Prawn larval densities were calculated from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows. Salinity-temperature profiles were also recorded. There is also data showing zooplankton biomass in Albatross Bay for both wet and dry seasons.
Map: Chlorophyll a concentrations in Albatross Bay
공공데이터포털
This map shows chlorophyll a concentrations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Phytoplankton pigment composition (chlorophyll a concentration) was measured in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria, northern Australia. Four sites were sampled over six years between August 1986 and April 1992. In the last two years samples were taken at the bottom of the water column in addition to mid-depth. This map has been produced by CSIRO for the National Oceans Office, as part of an ongoing commitment to natural resource planning and management through the 'National Marine Bioregionalisation' project.
Copepod Abundance in Albatross Bay
공공데이터포털
Biological and physical data collected from plankton samples collected from Albatross Bay. The samples were worked on as part of preliminary analysis. The analysis occurred 20 November to 15 December 1989. The biomass and species composition of tropical zooplankton in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria, northern Australia, were examined monthly for three years between March 1986 and March 1988. Zooplankton taxonomic groups were identified to species level where possible, with a primary focus on copepods. Data is stored as mean number of individuals per site. Sampling occurred across 5 sites (Site 1 = Inshore, Site 5 = Offshore, Sites progressed westward). Temperature and salinity were also recorded for many samples. This data has been produced by CSIRO for the National Oceans Office, as part of an ongoing commitment to natural resource planning and management through the 'National Marine Bioregionalisation' project.
Albatross Bay Salinity Temperature Profile Data 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Monthly cruises were carried out between March 1986 and April 1992, at forty three stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Salinity-temperature profiles were recorded at all larval [zooplankton] sampling stations using a submersible data logger (CSIRO/Yeo-Kal SDL®). The SDL was deployed by dropping to the bottom, and retrieving slowly such that the temperature, salinity and depth were recorded approximately every 1-2 metres. The data have been processed to remove the spurious records at the start (before logger entered the water) and end (after removal from the water) of the profile.
