Forest Types of Victoria
Polygon coverage delineating Victorian forest types. Key attributes referenced through a forest type code include dominant and two associated species, maximum and minimum height, and maximum and minimum projective foliage cover.

Forest Cover Changes in Victoria from 1972 to 1987
공공데이터포털
This layer identifies Forest Cover Changes in Victoria from 1972 to 1987. Forest Cover is defined as woody vegetation greater than 2 metres in height and with crown cover (foliar density) greater than 10%. The smallest unit of forest mapped was fifteen (15) hectares.
Forest Management Area boundaries
공공데이터포털
Contains polygon features delineating boundaries and describing forest management areas. All arc features are identified and coded according to the AS2482 standard.
Forest Cover of Victoria in 1869
공공데이터포털
This layer delineates the extent of Forest Cover in Victoria in 1869 based on a historial map prepared by William Slight under the direction of R.Bough-Smyth FGS in 1866 and revised by A.Everett in 1869.
Structural Vegetation (1995)
공공데이터포털
Structural vegetation mapping of forest in Victoria based on the Land Conservation Council (LCC) vegetation classification scheme. The layer is independent of land tenure and is a combination of existing data from multiple sources (predominantly LCC) and primary mapping based on satellite image interpretation. Using histoirc 1:63,360 forest maps as a source.
Modelled Forest Classes
공공데이터포털
This layer identifies categories of modelled forest categories determined through an analysis of readily available authoritative forest disturbance datasets on public land. The dataset identifies areas likely to contain old-growth forest, amongst other forest categories.
State Forests NSW Forest Types - VIS ID 4026
공공데이터포털
The forest types data set indicates the extent of distinctive plant associations of timber species within a native forest environment. Forest type descriptions are based on Baur (Research Note 17, revised 1989) Lindsay types and Western Red Gum types. This is the prime data set for native forest inventory. The data set is in progress. Generally confined to State Forests with some minor exceptions. The RN17 types are predominantly within a 300 km band along the east coast of NSW with the Lindsay types throughout the Cypress Pine forests of the Western Regions with the Red Gum types around the Murray River. Additional OEH Note: State Forest areas of Forest Typing which have now become NPWS Estate are removed from the latest version by FNSW (after 2011). Therefore this version (which may have been anywhere from 2000 - 2005) has been retained because it contains more mapped areas including what is now NPWS Estate. Please note that only the footprint is supplied. Data custodian is State Forests of NSW. VIS_ID 4026
Forest Management Areas
공공데이터포털
This layer contains polygons delineating boundaries describing forest managment areas. FMA500 can be used for a statewide overview.
Rainforest Mapping for state-wide Victoria
공공데이터포털
This layer identifies areas mapped as rainforest communities across Victoria. It involved a combination of modelling, using Sentinel satellite composites, species distribution modelling and interpretation and interpretation of high resolution extent of Rainforest across Victoria, excluding the Strzelecki Ranges. Within the Strzelecki Ranges, extent and type have been modelled but these outputs are yet to be confirmedand checked against high resolution aerial photography. The layer identifies five classes of rainforest community: 1. Cool Temperate Rainforest 2. Dry Rainforest 3. Gallery Rainforest 4. Littoral Rainforest 5. Warm Termperate Rainforest
Relative Forest Growth Stage Classification
공공데이터포털
This layer contains the relative forest growth stage classes. The classification is based on Eucalypt growth stages identified by Max Jacobs (Growth habits of the eucalypts, 1955) and described in terms of the relative contribution of irregular to regular to regrowth forms to the total crown cover. The data has been collected to SFRI standards for the old growth forest mapping program.
