This layer shows the layer of Structures (road and pedestrian bridges, rail bridges, sign gantries and tunnels), in Western Australia. This layer provides general inventory information for all Structures on State roads, Local roads or Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) roads. A road structure is that portion of the carriageway that carries vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic over or under an obstruction such as a watercourse, another road or railway line. This layer shows the location of Structures on all public access roads in Western Australia and is provided for information only. Major Roads is a subset of the National Roads by Geoscape dataset, filtered for highways, arterial and sub-arterial roads. National Roads by Geoscape is a digital representation of the road network of Australia. National Roads contains linear features to describe surfaces that have been improved to enable vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle transportation on land and ferry routes that enable vehicles to cross water bodies. National Roads does not include railways, tramways, driveways or passenger ferry routes. This dataset provides an optimised aggregated national view of road geometry and attribution. The dataset is created from multiple sources including jurisdictional data which is revised regularly and supplied in varying formats and at different levels of quality. The area covers the land mass of Australia, including offshore islands. Norfolk Island is currently not included.

This is the authoritative spatial dataset used in the administration and management of Structures (bridge assets) owned or managed by the Department of State Growth and the 29 Tasmanian Local Governments. A structure is defined as being a trafficable bridge or large culvert (of 1.8m or more in diameter). Thus structures smaller than this are not included in this data. Bridge attributes include: Structure number; Structure name; Asset type/class; Span type; TRANSEG_ID; Declared Status; Max width; Road Manager; Asset Maintainer are provided where available.

Department of Transport and Planning - DTP Managed Roads

This data informs which major roads in Victoria are classified as freeways, arterial roads and non-arterial state roads. ‘DTP Managed Roads’ are roads which are managed by DTP on behalf of Head, Transport for Victoria who is the Coordinating Road Authority under the Road Management Act 2004. It also includes Freeways operating as toll roads (such as CityLink and EastLink Tollways) and are managed by other Coordinating Road Authorities.
