This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, and others taken by CTD and other instrumentation from the research vessel Mirai in the Chukchi Sea, Bering Sea, and North Pacific. This cruise aims to develop the dataset that could allow for a synoptic view of the totality of hydrographic and ecosystem changes taking place in the Arctic Ocean and facilitate advancing model development to predict the future state of the Arctic. We conducted hydrographic and biogeochemical surveys, including plankton, microplastic, and bottom sediment samplings, from the northern Bering Sea to the marginal ice zones of the Canada Basin. This dataset is U.S. State Department MSR RATS U2023-005 as part of the World Data Center for geophysics and oceanography. Data are in text formats.

This is an archive of CTD data (water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and others) from the 2019 Bering Strait mooring cruise. The cruise was funded by the NSF-Arctic Observing Network grant: - PLR-1758565 (PIs: Woodgate and Peralta-Ferriz). The data are from a ~ 10 day cruise - on the US research vessel Norseman II - from 5th-15th September 2019 - sailing from and to Nome, Alaska, USA - to the Bering Strait and southern Chukchi Sea. The cruise was also to service oceanographic moorings in the strait and those data are archived separately. A total of 438 casts were taken and are included in this archive. No water samples were taken during this cruise. Stations were taken in US waters near mooring locations and on sections in the Bering Strait and southern Chukchi Sea. This dataset contains measurements conducted as part of meteorological and hydrographic surveys including marine biogeochemical samplings in the northern Bering Sea and Arctic Ocean on board the R/V Mirai, cruise MR16-06, from 22 August to 5 October 2016 under the Arctic Challenge for Sustainability (ArCS) Project. Water samples were taken for trace metals during this cruise using a separate pumping system (lead: Laramie Jensen). This dataset contains water temperature, salinity, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and suspended particulate matter taken by CTD, nets, and other instrumentation in the Bering and Chukchi Seas from the research vessel icebreaker Xue Long during the 5-th Chinese National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition (CHINARE5). The objectives of the CHINARE5 were to improve understanding of basic environmental information of marine hydrology in summer 2012 in areas of the Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea, Chukchi Sea Rise, and to provide basic information for global climate change research. The main work was undertaken through sectional observations of the aforementioned sea areas. Data are in CNV, XLSX formats.
