Tabular dataset containing age, sex, and length data for Chum, Chinook, and Sockeye salmon. Sex was determined externally using visual clues such as snout shape and size. Length was measured from fork to mid-eye with a measuring board to the closest 5 mm. Strata refers to the potion of the run the fish was sampled during. Strata data is based on the size of the population rather than date since the salmon run does not start on one specific date year by year. Scales were also taken and placed on a gum card for age assessment. One scale was taken for all sampled Chum salmon and three scales were taken for all sampled Chinook salmon.

Trapping took place between the East end of the Fort Wainwright airfield (N 64.831952, W -147.571279) and adjacent to Chena Marina (N 64.81065, W -147.89908) in 2017, between Hamilton Acres (N 64.839650, W -147.681000) and Pikes Landing (N 64.830467, W –147.848750) in 2018, and between Nordale Road Bridge (N64.846536, W -147.410418) and Grahel Park (N 64.845831, W –147.706114) in 2019. This dataset contains the biometric and tagging data related to captured Chinook salmon.

This dataset contains the total number of traps set on a given date and the total number of Chinook salmon captured on that given date.

Annual monitoring data contracted through USBR and DWR to assess the timing, composition, and abundance of salmonid emigration from the upper Sacramento River and its tributaries. Data collected here are consulted to make real-time Delta water management decisions and NMFS BO RPA triggers for protection of juvenile salmonids entering the Delta. This data and metadata were submitted by California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Staff though the Data Management Plan (DMP) framework with the id: DMP000032.
