These data include AIR TEMPERATURE - DRY BULB, AIR TEMPERATURE - WET BULB, BAROMETRIC PRESSURE, BIOLOGICAL DATA, CHLOROPHYLL, DEPTH - BOTTOM, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PHAEOPHYTIN, PRIMARY PRODUCTIVITY, SALINITY, SEA STATE, Secchi dEPTH, TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), WATER TEMPERATURE, WAVE HEIGHT, WAVE PERIOD, WEATHER, WIND DIRECTION, WIND FORCE, WIND SPEED, cloud amount/frequency, cloud types, nitrate + nitrite content (concentration), pH, phosphate, and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD, bathythermograph - XBT, bottle, meteorological sensors, and Secchi disks. Mathieu Ouellet from Fisheries and Oceans Canada submitted these data, which were collected by multiple organizations.

We are pleased to send you the Oceanographic Data observed by research institutes in Japan as a part of the lODE activity promoted by IOC/UNESCO. Enclosed CD-ROM contains following data. These are sorted into specific folders of each institution. - Hokkaido Univ: CTD (1995-2001); XCTD (2001) - JAMSTEC: CTD (1998-2003) - JMA: DBT, XBT, CTD, Serial station (2005, 2006) - NIES: STD, Serial station (2001-2003) - Tohoku Univ: XBT, XCTD (2007). We would like to correct some old data which we had sent you before. In this CD-ROM, a folder named as "updates" contains revised data. In this time, All corrections are provided by Japan Meteorological Agency. - updates (JMA only): Serial station (1951, 2004), XBT (1998-2004), CTD (1998-2004). Physical, nutrients, and chemical data were collected using bottle, CTD, XBT, XSV, AXBT, thermometer, and tide gauge casts from AIRCRAFT in the North and South Pacific Ocean. Data were collected and submitted by the Naval Oceanographic Office. Data were collected from 26 June 1925 to 28 April 1996.
