Dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, macronutrients, particulate organic carbon and nitrogen, collected from vertical profiles and discrete samples observations during the RRS Discovery Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP) cruise (EXPOCODE 32V320231006) in the North Atlantic Ocean and Labrador Sea from 2023-10-06 to 2023-10-27 (NCEI Accession 0297058)

This dataset includes discrete sample and profile data collected during the RRS Discovery Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP) cruise (EXPOCODE 32V320231006) in the North Atlantic Ocean and Labrador Sea from 2023-11-06 to 2023-10-27. These data include water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TA), pH, and other parameters. Oceanographic sampling of physical, biological, and chemical parameters is performed annually along selected fixed sections as part of the AZMP. The sampling consists at a minimum of a vertical profile of the entire water column (temperature; salinity; dissolved oxygen); rosette bottle casts at selected depths (nutrients; DIC and TA; and other biological parameters) as well as plankton net tows. The AZMP was implemented in 1998 with the aim of increasing DFO's capacity to understand, describe, and forecast the state of the marine ecosystem and to quantify the changes in the ocean physical, chemical, and biological properties. Ocean acidification is an emerging priority for DFO under the Aquatic Climate Change Adaption Services Program (ACCASP) and is developing the knowledge-base necessary to support the development of adaptation tools and strategies and investing in science to better understand the specific consequences of a changing climate. Specifically, the effects of ocean acidification on ecosystems in the Northwest Atlantic and large aquatic basin risk assessments consider ocean acidification at the basin and sub-basin scale are being investigated.
Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide, water temperature, salinity and other variables collected from surface underway observations during R/V James Clark Ross cruises in the Arctic Ocean, Barents Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, North Greenland Sea, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, South Atlantic Ocean, South Pacific Ocean and Southern Ocean in 2013 (NCEI Accession 0157246)

This dataset includes surface underway, chemical, meteorological and physical data collected during R/V James Clark Ross cruises in the Arctic Ocean, Barents Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, North Greenland Sea, North Sea, Norwegian Sea, South Atlantic Ocean, South Pacific Ocean and Southern Ocean from 2012-11-15 to 2013-11-08. These data include partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide - atmosphere, partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide - water, sea surface salinitysea surface temperature and barometric pressure. The instruments used to collect these data include Barometric pressure sensor and Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas analyzer.
Sea surface measurements of temperature, salinity, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and its isotopic composition (d13CDIC), total alkalinity (At), inorganic nutrients and water stable isotopes (d18O and dD) during the ships of opportunity cruises (SOOP) along the 76 transects between Iceland and Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1993-07-01 to 2017-11-27 (NCEI Accession 0172559)

This dataset is the SURATLANT (SURveillance ATLANTique) dataset and consists of individual data of temperature, salinity, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and its isotopic composition d13CDIC, total alkalinity (At), inorganic nutrients and water stable isotopes (d18O and dD) collected mostly from ships of opportunity between 1993 and 2017 along 76 transects between Iceland and Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean. The data have been validated, qualified, and their accuracy and the overall characteristics of the dataset are presented in a paper (Reverdin et al., 2018, submitted to ESSD).

This dataset contains data from 84 high resolution CTD stations, collected 26 Dec 1999 to 8 Feb 2000 by R/V Nathaniel B Palmer. These data support the Antarctic Pack Ice Seals (APIS) project, funded by the US National Science Foundation grant #OPP9816086. Data were acquired using a SeaBird 911plus CTD and processed by the data originator with SeaBird data processing software. File format information, contact information for the Principal Investigators, and other important metadata are available in the file data/1-data/Readme.
