DPW Street & Sidewalk Evaluation Results, 7-1-2013 to 6-30-2018 (FY13-FY18)
The Controller's Office's City Services Auditor (CSA) Division has worked with the Department of Public Works (DPW) to develop maintenance standards for streets and sidewalks and schedules and inspect for compliance since July 2004, as mandated by 2003 Prop. C. This data file contains street and sidewalk evaluation results from 7/1/2013 to 6/30/18 under the FY12 standards. Older evaluation results are also available on DataSF but are not comparable due to changes in the way the standards are calculated. The City of Bloomington Department of Public Works - Street Division recently contracted for a citywide assessment that analyzed the current condition of streets, sidewalks, sidepaths and Americans with Disabilities Act compliant accessible curb ramps. This project builds upon a similar effort that was last performed in 2017-2018 by the Public Works Department and updates the condition data that was collected at that time for these important transportation assets.

The Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) investigates and remedies reported violations of Chicago’s sanitation code. Residents may request service for violations such as overflowing dumpsters and garbage in the alley. This metric tracks the average number of days the DSS takes to complete sanitation code violation requests per week. Median days to complete requests as well as total number of requests fulfilled per week are available by mousing over columns. This dataset features business inspections conducted by DCWP. DCWP enforces key consumer protection, licensing, weights and measures, and workplace laws. In addition to patrol (routine) inspections at brick-and-mortar businesses, DCWP inspects licensed vehicles such as horse-drawn cabs, pedicabs, sightseeing buses, and tow trucks to ensure they are in compliance with their respective asset class requirements. DCWP also conducts 'Business Education' inspections, which are educational, violation-free visits. These visits are designed to help business owners learn about and comply with the laws that DCWP enforces.
