Marine Highways
The Marine Highways dataset was created on June 15, 2016 and was updated on September 16, 2024 by the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). MARAD's Marine Highway Program is a Maritime Administration led program to expand the use of our Nation's navigable waterways to relieve landside congestion, reduce air emissions, and generate other public benefits by increasing the efficiency of the surface transportation system (https://www.maritime.dot.gov/grants/marine-highways/marine-highway). This dataset contains the locations of all 31 maritime routes that have been designated as Marine Highways by the Secretary of U.S. DOT and contain 2022 tonnage values from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Routes included in this dataset are diagrammatic and may not depict all waterways and port connectors that are considered to be part of the U.S. Marine Highway System.

Navigable Waterway Network Lines
공공데이터포털
The Navigable Waterway Network Lines dataset is periodically updated by the United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). The National Waterway Network (Lines) is a comprehensive network database of the Nation's navigable waterways. The dataset covers the 48 contiguous states plus the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and water links between. It consists of a line feature class of the National Waterway Network (NWN), which is based on a route feature class for the NWN update regions (“1” through “7”, as well as the open ocean region “0”) and route event table with linear referencing system measures for NWN links. This dataset is a feature class with associated measures (in miles) that are used for finding distances, locating features, and displaying route event layers. It was exported from this route event layer. The nominal scale of the dataset varies with the source material. The majority of the information is at 1:100,000 with larger scales used in harbor/bay/port areas and smaller scales used in open waters. These data could be used for analytical studies of waterway performance, for compiling commodity flow statistics, and for mapping purposes.
Intermodal Freight Facilities Marine Roll-on/Roll-off
공공데이터포털
The Intermodal Freight Facilities - Marine Roll-on/Roll-off dataset was compiled on July 01, 2019 and was updated on July 22, 2022 from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). When available, primary sources for this dataset were the websites of the ports, as well as port operators. Every facility is associated with a port and assumed to be served by both marine and truck, and those facilities which support rail operations, the reporting code for the operating rail company is also identified. The dataset also includes at least one Navigation Unit ID (NAV_UNIT_ID) from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Port Facilities dataset which is associated with the Ro/Ro terminal. This dataset is one of several layers in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Intermodal Freight Facility Database.
Intermodal Freight Facilities Pipeline Terminals
공공데이터포털
The Intermodal Freight Facilities - Pipeline Terminals dataset was compiled on February 02, 2021 and was updated on April 21, 2021 from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). Pipeline terminals interface between pipeline mode and other transportation modes. They have the ability to receive or deliver freight commodities via pipeline and truck/rail/water. The data consists of location information, truck/rail/water mode connections, storage capacity, and a list of commodities handled at the terminal. Geographical coverage includes the United States and U.S. territories. This dataset is one of several layers in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Intermodal Freight Facility Database.
Intermodal Freight Facilities Air-to-Truck
공공데이터포털
The Intermodal Freight Facilities - Air-to-Truck dataset was compiled on January 15, 2019 and was updated on February 24, 2020 from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). This dataset includes air to truck intermodal freight facilities for the top 60 airports by total freight moved in 2017. This dataset is one of several layers in the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) Intermodal Freight Facility Database.
BETA - Intermodal Freight Facilities Liquid Bulk
공공데이터포털
The BETA release of the Intermodal Freight Facilities - Liquid Bulk dataset was compiled on November 28, 2023 and was completed on January 19, 2024 from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). This dataset maps polygons with attributes for port facilities that handle the liquid bulk commodity. This includes liquid materials that are transferred in bulk as opposed to containerized transport. Liquid bulk is most commonly transferred by three (3) modes of transportation: Truck, Rail or Barge. An intermodal facility is defined as a location where two (2) or more modes of transportation are serviced. Locations included in this dataset represent facilities where bulk liquids do not change state (e.g., refinement, liquefaction, manufacturing, fueling, etc.). Data was sourced from the public domain from March 2023 to November 2023. Prioritization of data collection was put towards collecting data for facility locations serviced by ship or barge. Excluded are Intermodal facilities which include pipelines as that is covered in the NTAD Intermodal Freight Facilities Pipeline Terminals. Note that terminal locations are prone to change ownership. Urban Areas
공공데이터포털
The Urban Areas dataset was compiled on May 31, 2023 from the United States Census Bureau (USCB) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. After each decennial census, the Census Bureau delineates urban areas that represent densely developed territory, encompassing residential, commercial, and other nonresidential urban land uses. In general, this territory consists of areas of high population density and urban land use resulting in a representation of the urban footprint. There are 2,645 Urban Areas (UAs) in this data release with either a minimum population of 5,000 or a housing unit count of 2,000 units. Each urban area is identified by a 5-character numeric census code that may contain leading zeroes.
Travel Monitoring Analysis System Class
공공데이터포털
The Travel Monitoring Analysis System (TMAS) - Class dataset was updated on December 31, 2023 and was created on July 16, 2024 by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). The TMAS Continuous Vehicle Classification (CVC) data represents both the FHWA 13 vehicle types and length-based class as defined by the 2001 Traffic Monitoring Guide (TMG).
