Syringe intended for the ultra-ligamentary injection of liquid products, especially anaesthetic products, of the type composed of a body the forward portion of which, to which the injection needle is fitted, serves as housing for a container of the said liquid product, constituted by a glass tube the rear extremity of which is closed by a plug (7) of rubber or analogous material, while the rear portion of the body serves as guide for a piston (6) actuated by a rack (4), in such manner that when the operator operates the syringe, the piston progresses forward step by step, thrusting the said plug forward into the interior of the container, and consequently the liquid product into the injection needle, the piston (6) being terminated, at its forward extremity, by a head (12, 12') of a diameter substantially equal to the internal diameter of the container (8), characterised in that the head forwardly presents a concavity causing migration of the material of the plug (7) towards the axis in the advance of the piston (6).

The present invention provides a low-cost, durable dental articulator that does not require the use of toxic or messy glues. The articulator is composed of a pair of bands that encircle and are attached to the plaster upper and lower teeth bases of the model, a pair of spheres that mechanically attach to the bands at any of several positions corresponding to the rear of the mouth on the dental model, and a hinge assembly simulating movement of the jaw and made of two arcs attached to each other at their ends by a hinge mechanism and having clamps at their apexes for attaching to the spheres. The dental model can be adjusted to mimic the occlusion of the patient by adjusting the position at which the spheres are attached to the bands and the position of the spheres in the clamps.

An oral fluid collection and transfer device comprises a collection device (10) and a test cartridge (100). The collection device includes a frame or chassis (14), and an absorbing pad (12) for absorbing oral fluid and which is secured around part of the frame with part of the frame protruding from the pad. A collapsible cover (16) covers the absorbing means and has apertures (68) forthe ingress of oral fluid into contact with the absorbing pad. Acap (18) covers the part of the frame protruding from the absorbing pad. The cap and the cover latch together to surround the frame and the absorbing pad. The device also includes a fluid adequacy indicator (20) in the form of an electrical circuit with an LED (66) which is completed when the absorbing means has absorbed a predetermined volume of oral fluid. The test cartridge (100) has a collection chamber (110) to allow insertion of the collection device into the test cartridge. A test strip (150) is used to for test the oral fluid for the presence of analytes. The collection device (10) is located at a fixed location relative to the test cartridge (100) within the collection chamber(110), in which location the absorbing pad (12) undergoes a controlled degree of compression, thereby transferring a predetermined volume of oral fluid from the absorbing pad to the test strip. A transportation vial may also be provided for the secure transportation of a sample of oral fluid to a laboratory for test verification. After initial testing, the collection device (10) is inserted into a transportation vial (180) wherein the remaining oral fluid contained within the collection device (10) is transferred to a sample vial (190) containing a preservative substance to prevent degradation of the sample during transportation. The collection device (10) and transportation vial (180) are repackaged and sealed with a tamper proof seal before being returned to a laboratory for confirmation or further tests.

An electric toothbrush having a handpiece, a bristle holder which is arranged on a head portion of the handpiece and is rotatable about an axis of rotation of the bristle holder, and a drive mechanism for the bristle holder. The drive mechanism includes a motor which is arranged on the handpiece, and a transmission member which transfers a driving motion from the motor to the bristle holder. The transmission member is arranged to rock in multiple axes and is arranged to be driven by the motor such that it approximately traverses a double conical path.

The invention concerns a device (1) for manipulating tools comprising two parts, said device being of the type consisting of a frame and at least one tray forming a table, designed to receive the mold. The invention is characterized in that it comprises two horizontally arranged trays (6, 9-7, 8) one of which is arranged sliding on the frame to be mobile in translation relative to the other tray, from a close position to a remote position and inversely, so as to enable the tool to be manually opened and closed.

The invention relates to the automated cleaning of paint buckets (2).In a device intended for this purpose the curled mouth rims (6) of the buckets are pushed slidingly one by one into the teeth (22,23) of a lifting fork (21), tilted and positioned in upside down position at the location of a scraping station (12), where paint residues are removed from the inner surface by scraping. A thus cleaned bucket is then transported in upside down position to a flushing station (17) where the last paint residues are removed by flushing and spraying clean. The thus cleaned buckets are finally tilted back to their upright position and stacked onto each other in nested form.

A medical device delivery apparatus is provided which comprises a catheter having an expandable and contractible member and an expandable medical device disposed about the expandable and contractible member. At least portions of at least one of the medical device and the expandable and contractible member have a pressure sensitive adhesive applied thereto to adhere the medical device to the expandable and contractible member. The pressure sensitive adhesive is selected so as to release the medical device from the expandable and contractible member upon contraction of the member from an expanded state. Suitable medical devices include stents.

A polymerizable composition is formed from (a) a polymerizable olefinically unsaturated substance, (b) a phosphorus oxyacid and an organic amine, at least one of which bears a polymerizable olefinically unsaturated group and optionally (c) a particulate inorganic material. Such compositions are useful in dental applications.
