This discussion included a description and background of the state data exchanges in Utah, Alabama, District of Columbia, and Texas. The participants conversed about data security and use, maintenance and enhancements of the data exchanges, and lessons learned. This state-only discussion, sponsored by the Child Welfare Technical Working Group (CWTWG) allowed child welfare information system project managers to air issues, questions, and concerns, and to develop a list of queries and comments for federal response at the end of the meeting. The topics in this open and interactive session included: Federal staff did not participate in the first half of the call, so state staff could confidentially raise topics and develop a shared list of comments and questions about CCWIS and other topics of their choice. Questions and comments were displayed on a virtual whiteboard to capture the collective voice of the child welfare information system project managers.
