Albatross Bay Primary Productivity Data 1988-1992
Between February 1988 and February 1992 the FRV Jacqueline D completed nine cruises, seven in summer, two in winter, in Albatross Bay in the north-east Gulf of Carpentaria. Two stations, one 10m deep, the other at 25m, were sampled. Mean chlorophyll levels and primary productivity in the water column were measured.

Map: Primary Production of Chlorophyll at two sites in Albatross Bay
공공데이터포털
his map shows C14 primary productivity incubations at two stations over seven cruises in Albatross Bay during both the wet and dry seasons. This map has been produced by CSIRO for the National Oceans Office, as part of an ongoing commitment to natural resource planning and management through the 'National Marine Bioregionalisation' project.
Albatross Bay Fish Data 1986-1988
공공데이터포털
7, four- to five-day cruises were undertaken using the vessel "Jacqueline D" in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria between August 1986 and November 1988, using a random stratified trawl survey to measure fish species composition and abundance. Four depth zones between 7 and 45 m were sampled during both day and night. Approx. 890,000 fish of 237 species were collected, of which the bulk were made up of 25 species. The dominant families were Leignathidae, Haemulidae and Clupeidae, with Sciaenidae and Dasyatidae important at night. Leiognathus bindus was the most abundant species, while Caranx bucculentus was the most frequently caught (96% of all trawls). The suite of fishes was separately analysed for occurrence of prawn predators.
Albatross Bay Prawn Larval Data 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Monthly cruises were carried out between March 1986 and April 1992, at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Prawn larval densities were calculated from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows. Salinity-temperature profiles were also recorded. There is also data showing zooplankton biomass in Albatross Bay for both wet and dry seasons.
Albatross Bay Salinity Temperature Profile Data 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Monthly cruises were carried out between March 1986 and April 1992, at forty three stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Salinity-temperature profiles were recorded at all larval [zooplankton] sampling stations using a submersible data logger (CSIRO/Yeo-Kal SDL®). The SDL was deployed by dropping to the bottom, and retrieving slowly such that the temperature, salinity and depth were recorded approximately every 1-2 metres. The data have been processed to remove the spurious records at the start (before logger entered the water) and end (after removal from the water) of the profile.
Albatross Bay Penaeid Prawn Larval Abundance - Genus Level Counts 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Prawn larval densities were calculated from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows, deployed during monthly cruises carried out between March 1986 and April 1992, at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Penaeid prawn counts were recorded to genus level (Penaeus spp.) for all observed larval stages. Salinity-temperature profiles were also recorded during the cruise.
Albatross Bay Penaeid Prawn Larval Abundance - Species Level Counts 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Prawn larval densities were calculated from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows, deployed during monthly cruises carried out at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Cruises were undertaken between March 1986 and April 1992. Penaeid prawn counts were recorded to species level (Penaeus spp.) for all observed larval stages. Sampling used a stepped-oblique tow, using a 0.5 x 0.5 square metre frame with 140-142 micron mesh. Salinity-temperature profiles were also recorded during the cruise.
Albatross Bay - Total Zooplankton Biomass 1986-1992
공공데이터포털
Total zooplankton biomass levels were calculated from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows, deployed during monthly cruises carried out at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Cruises were undertaken between March 1986 and April 1992. Total zooplankton biomass were calculated as grams dry weight. Sampling used a stepped-oblique tow, using a 0.5 x 0.5 square metre frame with either a 140-142 micron mesh (sampler_code = 'A'), or a 250 micron mesh (sampler_code='E')
Prawn Larval Species Distribution in Albatross Bay
공공데이터포털
Between March 1986 and April 1992, monthly cruises were carried out at twenty-one stations in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria. Prawn larval densities were measured and salinity-temperature profiles taken. Prawn larval density from stepped oblique bottom to surface plankton tows. Net sizes were 142 or 140m mesh, 250micron mesh with a 0.5x0.5 square frame, stepped-oblique tow. In this dataset Penaid prawn counts were recorded to species level for the genus Penaeus only, for larval stages Mysis 1-3. (Identification was not possible for other larval stages).
Albatross Bay Nutrient Data 1991-1992
공공데이터포털
Nutrients in Albatross Bay, Gulf of Carpentaria, northern Australia, were examined monthly between August 1991 and April 1992. Levels of nitrate, nitrite, phosphate and silicate were measured, at four sites, at different depths in the water column.
Gulf of Carpentaria Primary Productivity Data 1988
공공데이터포털
Data on primary productivity in the water column was collected during a 1988 cruise aboard the FRV "Franklin" in the Gulf of Carpentaria. Twenty stations were sampled.
