Zooplankton data were collected using zooplankton net casts and other instruments in the Delaware Bay and North Atlantic Ocean from November 3, 1976 to November 18, 1977. Data were submitted by Virginia Institute of Marine Science - Gloucester Point as part of the Ocean Continental Shelf (OCS - Mid Atlantic) project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Zooplankton (F004) format. The F124 format is used for data from sampling and analysis of marine zooplankton. Information on zooplankton abundance, distribution, and productivity derived from these data support studies of marine populations and ecosystems. Data reported may include: cruise information, position, date, and time of sampling; bottom depth, sampling depths, temperature, and salinity; gear type, volume of water filtered, total dry and wet weight, and other data for total haul; and data for subsamples by species. Data on zooplankton catch by species may include subsample size, zooplankton concentration, life history code, and numbers of adults, juveniles, eggs, and larvae. Estimated density of holoplankton and meroplankton and data on ichthyoplankton may also be reported. A text record is available for comments. Note: there are two options for reporting subsample counts of individuals at different life history stages. If life history codes are used, only number of adults should be reported on that record. Additional separate records should then be used to report number of juveniles and so on. Alternatively, life history codes may not be used and number of adults, juveniles, and so entered in the proper fields of a single record.

Zooplankton data were taken on five cruises from 1984 through 1992 at Johnston Island, Hancock Seamounts, and Palmyra Island, the latter of which was concentrated in the coastal regime and within the lagoon. Data were collected using zooplankton net casts by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).

Zooplankton and other data were collected using CTD, bottle casts, and other instruments in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean. Data were collected from 10 September 1963 to 24 August 1964 by Texas Christian University (TCU).

Zooplankton data were collected using net casts from NOAA Ship DISCOVERER in the Lower Cook Inlet from 25 May 1976 to 27 May 1976. Data were collected by the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) with support from the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP) project.

Zooplankton data were collected using net casts in the Gulf of Alaska from the R/V WECOMA from 27 October 1978 to 13 November 1978. Data were collected by National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) with support from the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP) project.

Nutrients and zooplankton data were collected from net and bottle casts from the ALAMINOS and other platforms in the South Pacific Ocean and other locations. Data were collected by Scripps Institute of Oceanography (SIO) from 31 January 1967 to 23 September 1967. Bottle data include concentrations of chlorophyll a, phaeopigment, phosphate, nitrate, ammonium, and total pigment. Zooplankton samples were obtained from oblique tows and parameters include maximum tow depth, total water volume passed through net, small plankton volume, total plankton volume, and standard haul factor.

Zooplankton data were collected using zooplankton net casts in the TOGA Area of Pacific Ocean from THOMAS G. THOMPSON. Data were collected from 30 January 1992 to 21 October 1992 by University of Maryland; Horn Point Laboratory with support from the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study / Equatorial Pacific Basin Study project.

Zooplankton data were collected using zooplankton net casts from ELTANIN in the Southern Oceans. Data were collected from 13 October 1963 to 06 June 1968 by National Science Foundation (NSF) with support from United States Antarctic Research Program (USAP).
